![]() ![]() And unlike The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection, the PS4 version won’t support stereoscopic 3D. There won’t be any new colossi to slay, nor are there announced plans to support PlayStation VR or online features. Outside of a refined, optional control scheme and a visual overhaul, Bluepoint Games’ remake of Shadow of the Colossus won’t change much about the original game. The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection for PlayStation 3 gave Team Ico fans a chance to play those games at a consistent 30 fps frame rate. It is a remake of the original game developed by Team Ico and released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2, using ultra-high definition art assets. The option to revisit Shadow of the Colossus - a game that ran with an inconsistent frame rate on PlayStation 2 - with 60 fps gameplay is a pretty big change. Shadow of the Colossus is a 2018 action-adventure video game developed by Bluepoint Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4. Those details come from a “messaging” document designed to supplement an official fact sheet. Sony didn’t officially announce 60 fps support during Paris Games Week, and it appears the company was holding back that announcement for a later date. But according to a document uploaded to Sony’s press site for Paris Games Week, PS4 Pro owners will also have the option to play Shadow of the Colossus at 60 fps, albeit at lower a resolution of 1080p. Sony previously announced that Shadow of the Colossus will run at 30 fps on a standard PS4, and at 4K and 30 fps on PS4 Pro. But it will look much, much better on Sony’s latest hardware, the PlayStation 4 Pro, including the ability to play Shadow of the Colossus at 60 frames per second. "The PlayStation 4 remake of Shadow of the Colossus already looks spectacular, thanks to SIE Japan Studio and Bluepoint Games’ total rebuild of the 2005 game. One other thing, even the Remastered PS3 version outputs at the same 1080p/30fps as the standard PS4 does, so any improvements may only be some refined graphics and the optional control scheme for those using the vanilla PS4. This may be an issue for for some people who enjoy this game in 3D. I've checked the specs for this PS4 version and it appears that they've taken that feature out of it. With my main console gaming monitor being a 50" 3D LED 3D TV, I think that's something I'd miss (both games look spectacular in 3D). Free returns are available for the shipping address you chose. I've just had a look at my PS3 version (Oh man, do I ever love having physical copies of classic games ) of Ico + Shadow Of The Colossus : The Collection Remastered in HD, and it also features 3D modes for both games.
